Beautiful Morning: Maria And Her $2 New Pair Of Red Pants (She Just Painted Them)

by Jon Katz

Life with an artist. Maria bought a new pair of orange pants at a thrift shop—buying retail is an offense to her faith—and then, for various reasons, she decided to wear her new and expensive (for her) orange pants red, which she did.

I love these pants; they speak to the true Maria. She wears them when she goes outside to shovel manure and then changes into another $2 skirt or pants. I love it, and I am crazy about these pants. She offered to make some for me, but I declined.

Old And Young Day: Sarah’s Pantry Support Request, Wednesday, Dental Retainer And Cleaning Tablets $5,74 For 126 Count, Purifying Shampoo, $3.97

by Jon Katz

Old And Young Day.

Pantry families have made numerous requests to the Army of Good for detailed teeth retention help and cleaning; Sarah is asking for help for this vulnerable community, many of whom are struggling to pay for their food and dental care.

These requests come directly from some of the elderly patrons. They say they often have to choose between dental care and eating.  This is about the true heart of America.

There is a pressing need for purifying shampoos on the family’s end. Already struggling to make ends meet, families are now facing the additional burden of rising food prices, often having to sacrifice hygiene products for a meal.

Today’s inexpensive pantry request for help.

Pure Clean Purifying Shampoo, Silicone Free, 12.5 Fl Oz., $3.97.

Dental Retainer And Cleaning Tablets, 126 Count, $5.74.

This change impacts the lives of scores of people who need items for less than $10. The pantry and its customers are often not eligible for these items. Please help if you can.

I am here to tell you that you are making an enormous difference in the lives of people struggling to survive in a culture that seems constructed to benefit the rich, not them.

You are leaders in the coming Compassion Revolution.  Thank you.  You are the future and are keeping the heart of America beating.

You can visit the Cambridge Food Pantry Amazon list anytime you wish, either by clicking here or clicking on the green button at the bottom of any one of my blog posts. Thanks. The list is updated several times a day.

Meditation And Feeling. I Look And Close My Eyes. What Did I See? Flower Art, Tuesday, August 6,2024

by Jon Katz

To create in one’s world in any of the arts takes courage.” – Georgia O’Keeffe.

I’m almost better; I had a bumpy night and morning. I did go outside for a bit, and now I’m coming in to rest. I look forward to seeing you in the morning. These photos were especially healing for me. I looked at them and closed my eyes to see if what I saw was what the camera was seeing. The answer was yes. Tomorrow morning, my Zoom meeting with blog readers, now blog friends.

I came outside briefly after I was feeling better. Zip was waiting for me, annoyed perhaps, that I was late for our daily 4 p.m. appointment. I explained I was sick, but he didn’t really seem to care. He’s not a dog.
