I first met Ian McRae when he showed up to share our sheep with his grandfather. He is still our shearer (his grandfather retired). Ian and I have evolved into a wonderful friendship. He is a poet now, writing some beautiful poems, and on the way to his weekly poetry group, he often stops to talk or join us for dinner. Sometimes we play chess, but mostly we yak.

He turned me onto Newsboy Cats, so I got one for the Spring. Maria cracked up when she saw us together and insisted on taking a picture. I do love it, as I’ve come to love Ian. We get to know each other, which is not a shared experience.
