This winter has been rough for the Cambridge Food Pantry and even more so for the people who depend on it for food. For weeks, it has been freezing every day, sometimes below zero. Fighting back with Rice and SpaghettiO’s. (And Size 5 diapers).
This weather has challenged food-deprived people in a dozen ways: the cost of heat, kids trapped in apartments and sleeping in chilly rooms (heating oil costs), gasoline for driving (car costs), clothes need, more washing from mud, etc., (detergent) and the need for warm food, easy-on sides, and ease of cooking (few families have stoves, etc.), morale.
This is the best way to manage anger and anxiety. Nothing feels better than helping the people who need it most.

(You sent these diapers last week, which is why they are so often requested. Two days after their arrival, they were all gone. They are badly needed. Thank you. The no. 5 diapers are also gone; they are what Sarah asks for. We can’t do them all at once.)
