The bitter and unrelenting cold here has made life more difficult for the pantry and people who need it for food. Inflation continues to rise, fuel oil bills are enormous, gas is used more frequently, and life is uncomfortable.
She’s seeking help today for mixes, clam chowder, chili mac, and clam chowder.
Icy streets have made getting to the pantry on some service days difficult. For the volunteers, work is also more difficult. It can get cold in there. Sarah has shifted her priorities—she wants warm and the healthiest foods she can get, ones that fend off the subzero cold and keep spirits high.
