One of the things I love about our farm is that no matter what the weather is, something is interesting or beautiful to write about or take a picture of. It is always beautiful here, even on a cold, icy, gloomy day. To the animals, every day is the same except for grazing on fresh grass. That is better than grazing on ice and snow-eating hay. But animals, unlike people, accept life, even when it isn’t what they want it to be. I am learning that from them.
They don’t tell other animals what to do or how to live. I’ve always appreciated them for that, as I’ve often appreciated America for that.
Asher is a good eater; he eats with the top of his head and his mouth.
Maria brings the food, and whoever brings food will know about animal love and appreciation.
This was and is the oldest thing on the first Bedlam Farm, and now the oldest here. It’s a reminder of the old life and the new.
My car has wings, so I bought a windshield cover. It fits on quickly, and I can pull it off after a storm, leaving the windshield clear. I used it this morning, and it was great. We’ll need it this winter.
