Sarah says one of the pantry’s significant resolutions for the Next Year is to search for healthier foods. One of the best ways to promote a healthy diet is to give her customers salad dressing so the families will inevitably make more salads to dress. At the same time, this will get the children used to eating salads, which happens whenever there is dressing around (and not when there isn’t).
(Note above: Amazon buyers can send messages to the receivers. The pantry volunteers love to get your messages.)
None of the dressings Sarah has chosen for the pantry cost more than $3, and most are cheaper. You can get all four for $10!
This is a small but very significant way to benefit these families to eat salads, which is happening when dressings are available, which is not common since they vanish from the shelves quickly.
The Cambridge Pantry is constantly looking for new ways to provide its members with the things they need—can Openers, Spatulas, and pans—since so many live in motels or small apartments without kitchen utensils. In a week or so, she’ll launch a Kitchen Shelf.
These changes promote health, improve morale, and strengthen dignity and hope. This pantry is paving the way.
