I got a new macro lens to try out for a month, A Lumix S 100 F/2.8 L series lens. I spent some time with it this afternoon. I loved it, and although I only had some tulips to work with, and it was late in the afternoon, I loved this lens and the things it can do.
It will be an excellent addition to my flower work with my Leica and my Iphone Pro Max 16. This lens is the smallest macro lens available anywhere – light and simple – and can bring me closer to the heart of the flowers, and it does a beautiful job with color.
My 105 mm Sigma Lens and Leica SLR-S will continue to be my prime camera and lens for flower photography. I can have a lot of fun with this lens.
Come along and check out my first night with a new lens; it’s always a big moment for me, and the price is very good if I keep it, which I am guessing I will. I am determined to keep improving my flower pictures and experiment with new ideas. I can tell that every lens has its own way of seeing the world, and this one is in sync with me.

From Thich Nhat Hanh:
“Don’t underestimate yourself. You have the ability to wake up. You have the ability to be compassionate. You just need a little bit of practice to be able to touch the best that is in you. Enlightenment, mindfulness, understanding, and compassion are in you. Very simple practices – such as meditative walking, mindful breathing, or washing dishes mindfully – make it possible for you to leave hell and touch the positive seeds that are within you.”
This lens can do all kinds of things with light and detail.
Up against the sun.
The color took my breath away a bit.
A journey to another dimension.
A beautiful form. Like Ms. O’Keeffe wrote, if you see it, take a picture of it
Sunlight Orange.
Forms in black and white.
All of your flower pictures are interesting and lovely, but these are outstanding! I love all of them except the black-and-white, I’ve never cared for monochrome, I love color too much.
Thanks so much for sharing those, I have looked at them several times today, hoping so much that decency and democracy will prevail tomorrow.
It sparks my interest every time you buy a new camera lens to try. I’m not a photographer and am clueless about that stuff, but it would be helpful in my understanding if you included a photo or two of the lens in question. I don’t know how many other folks would like to see them.
Thanks, and have a beautiful day.

Thanks, Bob; I’m afraid I take so many photos with different lenses I’d have to take notes. I’d rather not. I appreciate the good words. I don’t wish to be a teacher, it complicates things. I do mention the lens I’m using fairly regularly.
