Flower Art, Into The Whirlwind, Flowers Have Hearts. So Do Bumble Bees. Widening My Repertorty…

by Jon Katz

The majestic terrain of New Mexico, with its varied geological formations, wide range of exotic colors, intense clarity of light, and unusual vegetation, provided O’Keeffe with a rich source from which she expanded her already extensive visual vocabulary. Mountains and bones—new and powerful themes readily adapted to her style of combined representation and abstraction—were added to her repertory.

  1. sorry to hear you are under the weather Jon, but your photo’s sure don’t reflect that! I’m just SO enjoying the evolution of your photos…especially the flower photos…..and yes…..especially the black and white! Hope you feel back to your old self soon (not old…..but….yourself!)
