I love my new morning routine, and I have a new L.L.Bean winter bathrobe to keep me warm on my morning photo excursions. I’ve got a lot of work and experimentation to do. Today is Betty Crocker’s day at the Cambridge Food Pantry. I’m going online to see if she was ever alive. Come along for the morning walk.
I took out two cameras this morning: my Mirrorless full frame and monochrome. Come and see. More later.

Loved your black & white photo entitled “We are opening the pasture gate.” This looks like a painting with the early morning mist, the clouds in the sky and the mountains in the distance. What a great picture of nature and her animals.
Thanks, Jon!
I’m lucky to have such good subjects to photograph
I agree! Love “St. Joe’s Morning”, too. There’s just something about monochrome…
Thanks, Carol, I’m so transfixed on the big Leica I sometimes forget the monochrome, which I love…I appreciate the nice remarks..
Fate “works” in the same manner as you do…accomplishing nothing! Now, Maria “works”….
That’s hardly a nice thing to say nor is it true! I’m in the midst of reading some beautiful, hard to put down books that Jon wrote over the years sharing his life and works on the Bedlam farms. Fate is a beautiful dog, living and loving what she feels is her most productive life while Jon shares his beautiful photography art with us for free. One has to have a hell of a nerve to pass judgement that this is not work. Just as he “gives” of his time with the food pantry and has, perhaps still does servicing those at the mansion this iS work. Please take a few minutes of your time Chip to imagine what work might be for you at 77yrs old. Thank you for all that you do and share with us Jon … I’m a couple of chapters into “Dog Days”right now. Without a doubt Maria’s hard work on the farm comes from the heart and doubt she’d trade it for the world.
Thanks Cynci, for the good words. Fate is a very happy dog, and of course, does not read my blog…:)
