Women’s Day: Today’s choices for the Cambridge Food Pantry

(Thick Maxi Pads with Flexi-Wings for Periods, Overnight  Absorbency, Unscented, Size 4, 28 Count, 1 Pack, $6.00.

Tampax Pearl Tampons Multipack, Regular/Super Absorbency, With Leakguard Braid, Unscented, 34 Count, $7.97.)

Today, photos of some of the food you sent this weekend are on the shelves; you deserve to see them. Today is also Women’s Day, and the two inexpensive items Sarah is requesting are as important as any food.

(Above, for the first time in a long while, chicken pot pie and Clam Chowder chunks are on the shelves.)

We created Women’s Day so that women’s most intimate needs could be met without sacrifice. They now have their shelf.

The goal is for no woman who comes to the Cambridge Food Pantry to choose between tampons, pads, and food for their children.

Your support can make a difference.

We helped launch a new Woman’s Shelf a few months ago. It was a great success and is so much appreciated; with your help, we can keep it going.

The Cambridge Food Pantry doesn’t just offer food for people to take or leave; Sarah and the staff listen to their visitors and ask them what they want and need.

Seeing this food pouring in from people I haven’t met but whose hearts speak out is powerful. Thanks for today and yesterday.

Send Kyle A Message when you donate food. He works day and night to unpack them, get them on the shelves, and read the messages. He’s amazing:

Kyle is one of the pantry’s most dedicated volunteers.

The tide might last a few days longer this week for the first time.

Juices, juices.

A shelf for dental care and cleaning tools for children.

Finally, they have chicken pot pie and New England Clam Chowder, the food they all have been waiting for.

The diaper shelf is complete for the first time in memory. Thanks.
