“Enjoy your gift…” Frederick S.

Thanks to your generous donations, the shelves are now brimming with supplies in anticipation of tomorrow’s food rush. Your support has worked miracles, demonstrating how to love our neighbors and use our resources for good.

The Pantry volunteers have repeatedly told me that your contributions have made an ‘incredible’ difference. Many of the shelves were previously bare due to the high demand of newcomers for food support.

(Above photo) The shelves were almost empty, and then, just in the nick of time, your donations made last night’s delivery from Amazon possible. You did it!)

Sarah never rests; today, at her request, is Cereal Day For Children, three different and very popular and inexpensive breakfast cereals:

Original Cinnamon Toast Crunch Breakfast Cereal, 12 Oz Cereal Box, $2.49.

Honey Nut Cheerios Cereal, Limited Edition Happy Heart Shapes, Heart Healthy Cereal with Whole Grain Oats, 10.8 ox, $3.49.

Life Breakfast Cereal, Cinnamon, 13 oz Boxes (3 Pack), $8.62.

Just two days ago, these shelves were nearly half empty. But this morning, they are fully stocked, thanks to two significant Amazon deliveries from the Army of Good. Your support has transformed a much-trafficked pantry into a fully stocked one. This is a Godsend and is greatly appreciated.

Jon’s “Favorite” Picks for Today. For the first time in pantry history, the three items can last for a week or two (hopefully) and are the most popular. These items are too expensive for the Pantry guests. If they get them on the shelves, they can afford to buy more food:

Tide Liquid Laundry Detergent, Hygienic Clean Heavy Duty, Original Scent, 21 Loads, 34 fl. oz, $5.50

Fresh, Au Gratin Potatoes, 4.7 oz, $1.49.

Velveeta Shells & Cheese Original Shell Pasta & Cheese, Sauce Meal, (3 ct Pack, 12 Oz Boxes, $7.47.

Thanks to many of you for browsing the Cambridge Pantry Amazon Wish List.

You can access the list anytime by clicking the green button at the bottom of every blog post or using the links above.

The Wish List is updated several times a day, and everything on it represents foods and items in great demand but beyond the pantry’s resources or ability to obtain them. All of them are either gone or about to be. Please feel free to make your own choices depending on your resources.

The Food Pantry doesn’t get to choose what the New York Food Bank sends, but it does try to listen to its guests’ wants and needs. That’s where we come in.

Thanks again to the ‘Army Of Good’ for your invaluable support. Your contributions have played a significant role in transforming the Cambridge Food Pantry into a role model on the way to making it one of the best food pantries in the United States. Sarah Harrington is a fantastic person to work with.

Above are the latest food items to arrive from the Army of Good. They all went right up on the shelves, from the boxes to the table to the food room. For the first time in pantry history, there is enough coffee to last at least a week or two (we hope).
