I applaud, appreciate and respect everything you’ve touched on here. In the 15 Months I’ve been unable to drive a car due to an accident I’ve had falling down stairs , my husband and I have made it work. True, we have two cars, but I have to be driven. Not only did I break two ankle bones and my leg, but the state of Minnesota temporarily suspended my license due to the nature of my injuries! I am still looking at a long haul because of complications, but the schedule we’ve come up serves our needs comfortably, and we enjoy each other’s company when we share a car. It’s true my reclusive nature might make it easier for me, but all the points you’ve made about being in this stage of life make perfect sense. It’s nice to have the second car in case of breakdowns, but I’ll be happy when we eventually get to own just the one. You just know in your soul when this type of decision is right.
