YES! Our Tomato SOS Respone Broke All Pantry Records. Now We Need Parmesan Cheese To Go With All That Sauce: Cheese, $2.69, Velveeta Shells, $7.47. And Tide, Of Course, $5.50.

You people are amazing! Compassion and empathy live.

From tomatoes to cheese day!

Your collective efforts last night broke all pantry records for the most orders received in a single day—ever—in response to the tomato SOS. Your actions have made a staggering impact, and I can’t thank you enough. Sarah was blown away, and so was I.

(photo above: The empty tomato shelf from yesterday will be full by tomorrow. Thanks.)

Whatever you did yesterday,” messaged Sarah, “resulted in the most orders in one day! I had to replace the entire list! I was busy yesterday, so I wasn’t watching it, and when I took a look at it this morning, boom: !. Thank you, thank you. It’s amazing. I’m getting 66 cans of spaghetti sauce. It’s crazy!”

Sarah said she also got over 20 orders for Tide Detergent overnight.  The tomato shelf will be full of stock, and I’ll make sure to get a photo.

Yesterday, the Food Pantry tomato shelf was empty when I put out an SOS for tomatoes and tomato products. She said she had so many tomato sauces that she needed foods to accompany them, especially parmesan cheese (to go with all that sauce) and velvet shells and cheese.

Following is what she needs to go with the tomato cause it’s not much, and it’s not expensive.

Grated Parmesan and Romano Cheese Shaker (8-ounce Pack of 1).

Velveeta Shells & Xhwwaw OeifinL AHWLL Pasta, 8 ounce (Pack of 1).

I’m continuing my Tide campaign, researching why Tide is important to many who ask the pantry for help. I’ll continue to research this and write about it. Still, one reason is that Tide is vastly superior to any other detergent when removing stains and smells from dirty clothing, issues very close to the single mothers who make up the core of pantry applicants.

Please help me stock enough Tide detergents so the food pantry can keep them on the shelves for over a day or two.

We got 20 Tide’s last night, the most the Pantry has ever had at one time. If we can do that again over the next few days, we will be making a lot of people very happy:

Tide Liquid Laundry Detergent, Hygienic, Clean, Heavy Duty, Original Scent, 21 loads, 34 fl oz., $5.50.

The mothers tell us their children often face cruelty and ridicule if their clothes are dirty or their socks smell. They all say Tide does the best job by far of any detergent. Persil Pro Clean came in second:

New York Times, June 2024: The Best Laundry Detergent.

“Whether you regularly face serious stains or simply want your grubby laundry fresh and clean, a good laundry detergent can do it all—without irritating your skin or your fabrics.

We pitted more than 35 detergents against a slew of stains and odors (on all kinds of laundry, from stained T-shirts to smelly socks). Tide Ultra Oxi Powder Laundry Detergent and Tide Free & Gentle Liquid Laundry Detergent consistently and effectively removed more stains than the competition.”
