Half The Wish List Is Gone: Seven More To Go. Does Anybody Want To Buy Potatoes Or Tea?

by Jon Katz

Great news! As of 8:30 p.m., there are only two items left on the Wish List. They will be gone in the morning. What good hearts you have.

I want to thank all the new people joining our Cambridge Food Pantry Support program and those who donate regularly. We are getting many new people, and the program and cause are growing.

Thanks to your generous contributions, we restored seven items from our Pantry Wish List that had disappeared from our shelves. Your help has significantly impacted the food available to needy people.

We are halfway towards our goal, and we need your continued support to complete the list. To do that, we need tea, potatoes, and seven other essential items. Your contribution in any form will be a great help and is crucial to our mission.

Thanks for your beautiful messages.

Over the past few days, all but seven were removed from the list, meaning they had received enough of the food to last for a week or so.

Interestingly, two foods have yet to be purchased: tea and potatoes.  I don’t quite know why. I hope we can turn that around:

The Two Items that no one has purchased are:

Stash Tea Fall for Autumn Sampler, 6 Boxes With 20 Tea Bags Each (120 Tea  Bags Total), $19.99. (Maria is making a tea potholder for $19.99 plus $5 Shipping. The buyer will get the potholder and proceed to the pantry. Details Here. E-mail is [email protected])

The Second is Del Monte Fresh Cut Diced Canned Potatoes, 12 Pack, 14.5 oz, $19.08.

Please take a look. Seven items remain on the Amazon Cambridge Food Pantry Wish List.

When Sarah sees that some have been purchased, she will remove them from the list.

Our collective effort has made a significant difference. Even if we purchase just a few items, the list will automatically shrink until empty.

I’m hoping we can work together to achieve this goal.

These items were so popular that they disappeared from the shelves and are unavailable or affordable to the pantry. Some are as inexpensive as two or three dollars. Everything on the Wish List is something the pantry urgently needs and is out of. Today, volunteers are getting ready for the people waiting outside in the heat for food and produce.

The volunteers come in the heat to get the food to people who need it.

Today’s messages from Army of Good donors. Thanks once more for your support. It has really taken hold, and it really makes a difference in the lives of struggling families and their children.

  1. I’m curious. Do the customers get to take as much as they need for the week? I know there might be limits on each particular item. Thanks

    1. There are limits per family on every item, Sandy. Right now, the number of families is growing. We try to get the foods the pantry can’t get or can’t afford. There is enough food to feed the families for basic needs most of the time.
