Maria is a dream come true for me in many ways; one of them is that her emotions show up instantly on her face.
She will smile one moment and cry another, each showing up for short times in different ways. Crying does not mean she is sad; it often means she feels something beautiful. She can never lie or dissemble; I only have to look at her face and know where she is.
This was something I developed as a reporter.
I try not to abuse this power.
Her face, which is also a photographer’s dream, conveys all this emotion. No two portraits are alike. Her face is beautiful to me, and this emotion shows up in her work.
Wow!

women and crying
This issue came up today in Trump’s current Manhattan trial. His 20 something assistant when she worked for him was testifying and started to cry. Some people said she was sad and too tender. I’ve talked w many women about this. In fact women often cry because they are enraged by the misogyny of an incident that crying is the only expression when their rage is so deep; it’s as if they have been forced to see the ugliest most sadistic situation and now need to get away from it (or use violence).
Beautiful photo ❤️
Maria looks absolutely beautiful in your photo.
