Here is a daily chance to feel good and help America become kinder and gentler again. We are making a huge difference, says Sarah Harrington, the new Executive Director of the Cambridge Food Pantry.
Sarah’s Choice for today: SpaghettO’s Canned Pasta with Meatballs, 15.6 oz Can, Pack of 12 cans, $10.87.
This food is for the backpack program for the children of pantry guests. It was delivered to the school, where 66 children received backpacks. All items chosen as foods of the day are food and supplies not regularly available to the food pantry.
If you wish to send a food donation outside of Amazon, it can be sent to The Cambridge Food Pantry, c/o Sarah Harrington, 24 E. Main Street, Cambridge, New York, 12816.
The items are chosen here because they are the ones the guests most often request.
Sarah’s Choice for tomorrow is Tide Heavy Duty Laundry Detergent, 21 loads, $5.44.

One reason for our effort is to address the alarming issue of food deprivation, a rapidly growing problem for working-class Americans.
Feeding America, a nationwide network of 200 food banks, 21 statewide associations, and 60,000 partner food pantry programs reports that 53 million people in America sought help at food banks last year.
This is a staggering number, the highest in modern recorded history; it calls for help from the Army Of Good and the many Americans who want to do good. This is the stirring of a Compassion Revolution.
The Army of Good is indeed rising to it. I am deeply motivated by the idea of feeding hungry children and their families. It could have been me, my daughter, or my granddaughter.
