Sunday Morning, March 17, 2024 Tale Of Two Morning Skies, Five Minutes Apart

by Jon Katz

We woke to a bright sunrise. Five minutes later, the light went away, and the sky darkened. I can’t wait to see where the day lands. It rained all night. No Farmer’s Market today; we’re plotting a one-day excursion to the Shelbourne Museum in Vermont in a few weeks.

  1. Hi Jon, I just learned that today is the feast day of St. Gertrude of Nivelles. She is the patron saint of cats and gardeners. While I was researching her bio I found mice and rats are also in the mix. Of course I thought of you!
    Enjoy your beautiful Sunday 😸

  2. I love the juxtapositionn of these 2 photos. I must say that they remind me of you, whom I’ve never met except through this blog. It reminds me of the 2 sides of your spirit & being…..moody, atmospheric, reflective….and a vibrant joy & awareness of everday miracles. One is not more beautiful or important than the other. On the contrrary, I believe that they manage to create a balance in all of the complexity of your life. Never let anyone sour your happiness. Love.

    Maria (yes, another one),

  3. Shelburne Museum is a favorite stop, whenever we’re in the Burlington area! The collections there are amazing, and Maria is going to love the quilts…if she hasn’t already been there.

  4. I must admit I am always in disbelief when you relate the criticism you receive regarding your posts, not that I don’t believe you, but that people feel free to post such hateful things and give such unwarranted advice. Is this really what the internet has done to us or is this symptomatic of society as a whole.
Why are they unable to grasp your explanations regarding dyslexia and animal care?! Why the rudeness and hate? I don’t know how you do it, but I’m sure glad you do!
