I’m drawn to my photos of dogs at rest; something is calming and uplifting about them.
My dogs know how to play, eat, and rest; they do it with enthusiasm and determination.
The only thing that wakes them up at night is if they hear me going for the treat door where the snacks are kept. They know the sound of that. Fate doesn’t appear to love Zinnia much; she is a bit of a standoff. But I notice that outside or in their beds, they like to be close to one another. In the sun, they curl up together and get some rays.
Dogs don’t need to shake hands or kiss to be friendly. They just need to be close.
Aww great pic of Zinnia & Fate ‘at rest’! Where’s Bud?
Im sure very deserving!
Sleeping where he wants..
You know (I believe) that I enjoy ALL your photographs, but for my inner soul…..your (specifically) Fate at rest photos……and now this gem of Fate and Zinnia, are just so calming to my heart and soul. Notecard series please of dogs at rest (joking, but not really).
And PS….. as per an earlier post…..there *are* worse things to have in a freezer than a dead hawk. You have been pre- warned! I just hope the DEC doesn’t take a year to come retrieve it! We had dead mice and rats in our freezer for weeks when our nearest neighbor (who does raptor rehab) asked us to store them for *feedings* of said raptors…..while her own special chest freezer was broken and awaiting replacement. That was hard to deal with, but……. I put them in a red bag……(alert, alert!)……….. and we made it work!

Thanks Susan, Fate touches me in rest, there is a message there I haven’t quite grasped yet, but I love taking the photos. Dogs at rest are …well, restful. I don’t wish to do notecards, Maria has done some with Zip, but we don’t want to be in the stationary business, we are busy enough People who see these images on my blog can download them for free, they don’t to buy them too, I don’t think. I don’t really want to make and sell them. The blog is enough for me.
I hear you, Jon…….just had to express my own selfish wishes!
