Zip Crashes The Party: Video And The Last Ten Beautiful Skeins Of Bedlam Farm Wool, On Sale On Etsy. They Are Moving Fast

by Jon Katz

We only have a few skeins of Bedlam Farm left, and our video about them was excerpted by an intrusive Barn Cat, who seems to think he owns the place.

After breakfast at Jean’s Place, we came home with a project: Maria and I started to do a video out in the pasture on the last ten skeins of Bedlam Farm wool for sale, now up on her Etsy Page. Each skein costs $27 plus $5 shipping. They are going fast. We planned a video on the yard, but we were taken aback when the ever-at-home Zip, our new barn cat came waltzing out onto the pasture and introduced himself to the sheep and the donkeys.

It was a big deal for Zip, who hadn’t yet met the sheep and donkeys as far as we knew, but they seemed to be old friends. The animals were curious about Zip and all of them were generous and friendly. Zip seems to know who’s a friend and who isn’t and his comfort level grows by the day. He just took over the video. He has a surprising sense of friend and foe. He is a Barn Cat through and through.

Maria and I are excited about the quick sale of the newly woven yarn. Shearing and yarn and wool sales are a big event every year (she also sells a lot ot dryer balls and roving). She is exhausted from a week of taking orders,  checking e-mails, shipping, and recording the sales. We are hoping the last skeins find a home over the next day or so.  We wanted to let yarn lovers know there aren’t many left. You can see and buy them here.

Zip keeps amazing me. He waltzed on the pasture as if he was born there and greeted every one of the donkeys and sheep, one by one, sniffing and touching noses. He could not have looked more comfortable or secure around a pasture full of animals eight or ten times his size. I get the idea that Bedlam Farm is the perfect place for him.

I’ll put up some more photos of Zip continuing his conquest of Bedlam Farm. He is also officially a member of the Peaceable Kingdom. His confidence and sense of place are boundless. Just ten skeinds of Bedlam Farm yarn left. You can see it and buy it here.
