Happy Halloween From Bishop Gibbons Eighth Grade And Sue Silverstein. Scary Pillows!

by Jon Katz

Every work of art being done by the creative artists of Bishop Gibbons High School is made with discarded materials sent by the Army Of Good. This week’s art is from the 8th grade; they are all having a blast making Halloween pillows from fabrics, markers, paint, and brushes you sent them.

These two photos are of Halloween pillows made this week.

Sue Silverstein, the brilliant art teacher, will make art from any discarded thing sent to her: Sue Silverstein, Bishop Gibbons High School, 2600 Albany Streat, Schenectady, N.Y., 12304.

Please keep the flow coming; our help is needed. If you have any discarded or forgotten jewelry fabrics, toys, wood, ceramics, or art supplies – she always needs paint and canvas boards for painting – send them along. They will be put to excellent and creative use.

Sue’s art program is fantastic, and almost all the cost is for shipping. She wants things that nobody is using anymore. The experiment is paying off—Happy Halloween from Sue (and me) and the students of her transformative art program.
