Monday Morning, Bedlam Farm Journal, October 23, 2023. Brave Flowers, Beautiful Sky, Happy Zip, Rat Troubles

by Jon Katz

Maria and I are going to the Mansion; I want to take some photos, and she’s teaching an art class. I need to raise some money for art supplies for the Mansion. we want to keep the tremendous energy of the activity room going, but for that to happen, we must keep supplying the activity staff with paint, canvas, and watercolor supplies. The residents love the new art projects, but the Mansion Fund is low. Help via Paypal, [email protected], Venmo, Jon Katz@Jonk-Katz-13, or by check, Mansion Fund, Jon Katz, P.O. Box 205.

The residents depend on these activities, they keep them social, active, healthy, and engaged. Please help if you can.

I’ve just been named Bedlam Farm’s Rat Prevention Czar. We had another rat in the bathroom- it was killed in a trap- so we have a rat problem. I’m gathering materials for the battle.

Morning, hello from Zip

  1. I’ve spent a lot of time fighting big rats and tiny mice. Traps are the best thing. Just kill them off one by one. Mixing bacon grease with peanut butter is a sure fire bait. 3parts peanut butter to 1 part bacon grease. Over the past 7-8 years I’ve killed probably 10 rats & maybe 20 mice. I like the old wood traps, big & small. They kill instantly. Just put them in places where the dogs can’t get to them. Best of luck.
