I went outside with my camera this morning and couldn’t find Maria at first. I saw her squatting down (I wish I had knees that could do that) for the longest time out in the Southern pasture. She sat there for ten or 15 minutes. She came out looking very happy and pleased with herself. Maria keeps growing in different ways, one of them is as a skilled nature photographer. Her shots of birds, bugs, and spiders are amazing.
She explained that she saw a spider web connected to a plant leaf. Spider webs in the dew are among the most beautiful things I ever see up here in the country. Maria sees things I rarely see, and most people never see. She has the patience and the skill.
I wanted to share her video and photo of this beautiful web. I am in awe of spiders and the beautiful art they make.
Maria’s love of nature is infectious; she and my camera are helping me to see the world anew. She always comes back from the outside with a story to tell about a bug, a bird, a flower, an owl, or a mushroom. It took me a while, but I love those stories. Her life would make Steve Jobs proud; she does more creative work with her Iphone than most people do in a lifetime. She sees what few people see.
The spider web that caught her eye.
Beautiful!
