Thinking of the people in Florida, we got rain all night and sun all morning. No two days are the same; my flowers are taking a beating. When I see the images from Florida, I know I have nothing to complain about. My morning was sweet. I had my weekly Zoom meeting with blog readers; they have all become valued friends, and I look forward to our conversations all week.
We can find friends on the Internet and talk to one another, no matter how different we are. This is a great group to know and chat with.
The conversations are confidential, but they are all meaningful and thoughtful. After the Zoom, I took a walk around the farm. I wrote myself to sleep last night; this was a photo morning. My new friends, the Ravens, were floating over my head, as happens often these days.
The barn above is one of the calmest places on the farm. I always find peace and beauty there.
I brought some alfalfa treats to Lulu and Fanny. They were waiting.
I love capturing the birth of new flowers; we’re having a second season here.
A barn full of hay in August is a beautiful thing to see.
One sheep grazing always seems iconic , especially under an apple tree.
The Pole Barn is a quiet place (meditative) when the sheep come in from their morning grazing. It’s a place of rest for them, a cool place out of the sun.
An excellent place for me to stand. The donkeys and sheep are pretty used to me now. Nobody moves. They appreciate that I don’t always come in with a border collie eager to move them around.
Thanks Jon for your calming and meditative journal. I first read your book abt Homer years ago, and now found this blog. I live in Cardiff by the sea, Ca. And have a bossy Aussie named Phoenix. And birds. Am 77 and waiting for a cancer operation. Kind of anxious abt it. Wish I could visit your farm. I too love animals. Thanks for sharing your life.
