The sun came out strong late this morning, lighting up my flower bed and hustling me right out of the house and into the flowers. This turned out to be a color and light floral exhibition; it can cause smiles, laughter, and much hope to the fortunate ticket holders. You all get in free.
Tomorrow, Maria and I are joining the Mansion residents at the Washington County Fair in Greenwich, N.Y. We’re going early because the residents are eager to see the fiddlers play; they missed them last year. We will help out.
As always, the Army Of Good supports the residents; we’ve provided them with $300 for food and souvenirs.
In a week, I’ll be taking portraits of every Mansion resident so the resident’s photos can hang on the Mansion walls. It is essential that they be seen in their own homes.
I purchased new tablecloths and plastic covers for Halloween ($434.oo). I also hope to buy a special tablecloth (12 tables) for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Halloween, and Fall decorations. The plastic covers, which cost $16 apiece, are essential. I will need about $600 for everything – Thanksgiving, Christmas, and plastic covers.
If you can and wish to help with this project, you can do so via Paypal, [email protected], or Venmo, Jon Katz@Jon-Katz-13. Or by check, Mansion Fund, P.O. Box 205, Cambridge, N.Y., 12816. Things are picking up after the long Pandemic drought.
Thanks.
Following are my photos of color and light. Thanks to the sun. Today was one of the most beautiful days of the year. I hope for more.
The sun was in the right place, and the flowers were happy to oblige this afternoon.
Flowers seem to be dancing in sunlight.
My only greenish flowers are taking shape – Lisianthus
I am enjoying my experimentation with focus. Thanks for your kind messages about that.
I watered the plants today, the first time in a while I needed to do that. They’ll thank me in the morning.
The Tin Man is very happy in the garden bed. He has found a home, and a good one.
Jon, I’ve become addicted to your blog! I find now that I crave it as I end my evening quietly — and the more photos you include, the better (that includes any and all things you photograph, but I’m especially fond of the donkeys… Well… especially the flowers both in- and out-of focus…..Well, especially the dogs ,,,, and especially the hens…. Well…..especially the…..
Thanks, Pam. Welcome.
$1,000.00 for plastic table covers? Who do you think you are kidding, Jon? Scam on….
You are not Wiser, Mr. Wiser. You are disgusting. When was the last time you purchased three sets of tablecloths with plastic for an elderly community with twelve tables, 35 people, and three meals a day? You can’t even read, a problem for a Wise ma. The plastic covers cost $16 a piece. The autumn, Halloween, and Christmas tablecloths are $21 a bit; we need 12 of each. The plastic covers are to preserve them; we need twelve each. Photos of all these items and their use will appear on my blog. I know you don’t care about the truth, but I insist on taking pictures because there are people like you in the world.
This is an excellent price for the clothes and the plastic and a great lift for the residents. I’m proud of it; we have brightened many a meal.
Nowhere did I say or suggest the plastic covers cost $1,000. That is ridiculous. You made it up out of thin air.
You don’t seem too bright to me. I’m kidding you since you are I.M. dumb – too dumb to read and count. You are a modern-day ghoul feasting off of good. I am so happy not to be you. Thanks for giving me the gift to call you out for your lies and cowardice. One day, if a God exists, people like you will end up in jail. It’s no wonder you hide behind an obvious pseudonym. This might be the only wise thing about you. Please go crawl under your rock. (Shame on me, I enjoy dumping on you too much, but it feels so good!)
