It took me a while to explore the beauty of chickens, an animal I never thought much about. The Imperious Hens have awakened me to the sometimes calming and meditative position chickens take.

Every morning, the hens gather under a lilac bush, itself a forgotten beauty on many farms.

The two go very well together, I’ve found. Sometimes I pull up a chair and meditate with the hens under the lilac bush.

Photography is a challenge and stimulant for me. There is beauty everywhere if you can see it (Maria finds it in bugs). I am working to see it.
