Tomorrow is the official launch date for one of the most critical days in the calendar of the Army Of Good. This is a sneak peek and a preview. This list is so essential to our work.
It’s for the fantastic Bishop Gibbons program, which depends on us to give Sue Silverstein and the budding artists the tools they need to make art out of what you have been sending them so generously.
Sue has 80 students taking her radically innovative art class; her kids have no trouble staying off TikTok. The program is one of the most imaginative and thriving in the country. We are helping to make that happen. They need supplies for the new school year.
The Amazon/Bishop Gibbons Fall/23 Wish List is as inexpensive and practical as possible. The list is pre-programmed to send whatever donations you choose directly to the school.
Sue and I are both conscious of people’s financial pressures; the list is designed accordingly. The list has only 37 items, ranging from $6.99 to $15.98. It is the smallest and least expensive Wish List I’ve been promoting in the past five years.
Sue makes terrific use out of any discarded objects you send her. Please keep them coming: Sue Silverstein, Bishop Gibbons High School, 1600 Albany Street, Schenectady, Neew York, 12304..
Helping these refugee children has never been more important or meaningful.
As Is my custom, I ordered the first items – watercolor paint and two other items. The list is programmed to automatically send the items you choose to the school; you should see Bishop Gibbons Registry Option on the address list.
Should you need it, Bishop Gibbons’s address is 2600 Albany St, Schenectady, NY 12304.
You get to pick what you want, and Amazon does the rest. No middlemen or administrative fees. And thanks. You can give as often as you’d like.
The official kickoff is tomorrow; as always, I offer a peek for the people who keep getting shut out. Take a look here, and if you can, please buy something. Sometimes the Wish List sells quickly; sometimes, it takes longer.
We have some time to make this happen; school doesn’t open for a month.
Without these tools, the students, already fired up by the art they are making, can’t make art of the things we send them. This art program is a great success; Sue needs our help to keep it going.
Sue and I have changed how we work with these enthusiastic artists
Sue has unleashed. Rather than ask people to buy things, we ask them to donate discarded or forgotten things they can part with and are willing to ship to the school.
This has been a roaring success as people from all over the country and overseas have shipped jewelry, vintage toys and clothes, and a dozen other things. Sue is a magician; she turns everything you send into art and changes the trajectory of many refugee lives.
Check out the Wish List here. It’s officially kicking off in the morning, but you can get a sneak peek tonight. And thank you.
This is wonderful! I just placed an order to send three items, and all the links worked just fine!
Thanks DotD, much appreciated…
