A Big Score For My Mansion Memory Care Unit Visit Monday And My Meditation Class On Tuesday

by Jon Katz

Food poisoning knocked me out of commission Monday and Tuesday when I usually visit the Memory Care Unit and Meditation Class on Monday and Tuesday. Today, I went down to Caroll’s Consignment Store where they have a wonderful selection of old vintage bracelets and a 50 percent off sale on teddy and animal dolls.

I got a basket full of beautiful vintage necklaces for memory care and another bull of animal dolls, mostly intended for Memory Care.

The residents always ask me for necklaces, and stuffed animals can be very important to the residents and especially people in Memory Care. I got a good deal – 20 percent off of everything – from Caroll’s Trading Post.

I’m excited to distribute these gifts on Monday and Tuesday. I’ll take some photos.  Thanks for your generosity; you make it all possible.

The Mansion Find always needs your support. You can donate via Paypal, [email protected], Venmo, Jon Katz@Jon-Katz-13, or by check, Jon Katz, Mansion Fund, P.O. Box 205, Cambridge, N.Y., 12816. We’re collecting funds for the trip to the County Fair in two weeks. I’m confident we will have the money we need.

Someone asked me about my Mansion volunteering. I said I loved doing it. What really matters is not what you bring, but that you show up.
