Long And Tiring And Very Hot Day: We’re Heading To The Movies. I’m Seeing Oppenheimer For The Second Time, Maria For The First

by Jon Katz

We got up early this morning to be ready for the hay delivery for winter, and then we had to be outside when Vince dumped a truckload of gravel in front of the Pole Barn. We did some shoveling together which reminded me that I should not be out shoveling gravel in this heat.

So I retreated to my office and did some blogging. Maria, also exhausted, took a shower. I suggested we go to see Oppenheimer, the movie, together. I saw it earlier in the week, Maria wants to see it, and I want to see it again. I already did my review.

It’s a complex movie, and I want to pick up some details I might have missed.

We are both working on shortening our work days to 10 or 12 hours. We got up at 6 a.m. to get a jump on the day.

We’re shutting down the computers, grabbing lunch, and heading to the late afternoon showing, already sold out (I ordered two tickets on the phone).

I’ll check in with a few art flowers later. Have a great day and a great weekend. Please stay cool, dry and safe.
