27 July

Photo Journal, Thursday, July 27, 2023. Hear Comes Some Heat

by Jon Katz

It is supposed to be up to or over 100 degrees tomorrow. I’m glad we got those two window air conditions in May. We also expect more “severe” rain, storms, and possible flooding. I’m going to be home in my office writing on Friday. I went out a half hour ago to check on the raised beds.

I have some photos to share (surprise!) Im looking to write about morality tonight or tomorrow, wondering what happened to the idea of morals in our public lives. Here are some flower photos; we are really having a comeback, I hope we get some steady weather, as do all of your reading.

I miss the Shift wagon already but Maria and I are beginning to think about healthy good food that we can make. There is plenty to work with up here. We got lazy.

I often think of all the flower lovers who lost their gardens and their flowers to rain, fire, smoke, or drought. I feel for them, that would tear me up if it happened to hear, and it almost did last week. These flowers are for you.

I’m glad I got to see Barbie and Oppenheimer. It may be a while before we get to see good new movies in theaters.

The Lisanthus are not minding the heat, wind, or rain—such beautiful things.

These flowers appeared out of nowhere; I don’t even remember buying them.

The clouds tell me it’s pretty wild up there; more storms are coming tonight.

  1. both your flower photos, and your *artistic* flower photos are food for the soul. The colors….and your perspective. I do believe the Lisanthus is my favorite……. they never disappoint in their color and texture. I look forward to these pics every day with my one early morning cup of coffee! Thank you!
