Reinforcements are on the way.
I’m working to salvage my beautiful soggy garden from the heavy rains. It’s going well. Reinforcements have arrived in the form of new Lisanthus plants and others whose names I don’t know yet.
I was pleased to see them blossoming this morning and took some photos of these natural survivors. I shouldn’t underestimate them.
Good news this morning. I saw a podiatric food specialist, Dr. Jones, in addition to the podiatrists I have enlisted to make my feet have healed and are healthy and that my new brace is excepted by my wary foot and toes.
He’s the new member of my foot team.
In addition to Dr. Daly, I will see Dr. Jones every three months to ensure there are no callouses, that my toenails are trimmed and smoothed, and that there are no injuries, blisters, ulcerations, infections, or wounds. Maria and I are determined never to repeat that.
This is all about vigilance. You have to look and make sure every day. I liked Dr. Jones, he’s easy to talk to, and he told me my foot – both my feet – look terrific. All the wounds are healed, all the nails are trimmed, and my brace is off to a great start.
Now, for some flowers making a comeback in my garden beds.
My new white Lisanthus is the first new plant to bloom. It happened overnight.
I don’t know what this small and feisty flower is; it weathered the rains just fine.
My black pearl Lisanthus is also joining the rally; this came out this morning.
My Nasturtiums are popping all over the place. I love their shadows.
My firecrackers are rallying, joining the fray. I consider them brave and loyal flowers.
I feel much better; many of the damaged flowers show signs of life; I removed the dead ones and sent some others to Maria’s gardens; they might need more space.
love your flower pics, Jon……and your nurturing them back to health after your severe weather….and bringing in new ones too! I do believe those Lisanthus are some of the most gorgeous of flowers…… I have a friend in Ojai (150 miles south of us) that grows them and they are such stunning flowers….such variety of color….. and all just lush in appearance. And your *memorial* Nasturtium bed is thriving, I’m happy to see! What fun!
