The power was out for several hours before we turned the generator on. Maria brought the dining room candle out to the living room. The dogs all went to sleep (Fate above), and we sat in the dark and talked. When the electric company said the power wouldn’t be on until sometime after midnight, we turned the generator on and went to bed. I loved this photo; it captured the sense of the room, peaceful and beautiful, as the flame from the camera gave us some warm light.
