We found a muddy mess inside When we went to the Pole Barn this morning to check on the animals after the storm. It rained so hard and long with so much wind that water had blown into the always-dry Pole Barn. Maria went to work cleaning it up, and she sealed off the barn for a day or two so it could dry (it will rain all weekend.)
The sheep tried to take over the shady fence where the donkeys always stood, and Lulu didn’t like that at all. She kept chasing the sheep away, but when she and Fanny got their favorite space back, they settled down and spread out. There is room for everyone, girls, be nice.
Donkeys are not lovely about sharing things, but they got the message and settled down. They will all sleep outside tonight and return to the Pole Barn in the morning. Donkeys are safe; they are famously effective guard animals. They may not love the sheep, but they will protect them.
