We were both a little low today for various reasons; the rain, gloom, and smoke didn’t help. We decided to walk around the farm as it began to get dark. Usually, when we get blue, I’ll blog or take a photo, and Maria will make some art and walk in the woods. We have done all these things today, it’s better, but we are still low.
We had planned to go out to dinner tonight to celebrate the healing of my foot, but we didn’t feel like driving anywhere tonight. And we are not in the mood for fireworks. We decided on Reginniti whole wheat pasta, one of my very favorites (and a good and approved one for diabetics in conjunction with a high fiber food), and cauliflower, simmered to a bit of a crisp in the oven.
Maria went to see if there was a suitable cauliflower in her vegetable garden. There was. “Come look at this,” she shouted after we returned from the pond. Lots of rain this Spring, and the garden loves it. It’s in the oven.
It’s awesome to be able to grow some of your own food. Tonight we’ll read and watch the original mystery series “Morse,” and we will be back to normal in the morning. We’ve alternated between the old “Morse” series and “Endeavor,” which goes back to the young Morse and explains him.
These are two of the best mysteries available, I think. Both are set in post-war Oxford, England.
Should I care? Are you bored? My poetic license says it simmers.. find something meaningful to do. A message to the social media nitpicking army…Does anyone out there have any manners or boundaries?
I really enjoy British mysteries. I like Vera and some of the books now after you mentioned the author. Very well written.
The books are page turners.
Glad you like them Laurie, I have followed them for years…Vera is wonderful… very unique..
We are huge British mystery fans and have also been watching for years. We plan to revisit Endeavour from the start and probably Morse as well. Such intelligent writing and great actors.
Thanks Joy, I bet you’ve tried the Adam Dahgleish series by P.D. James, it’s streaming now on Amazon ..it’s also wonderful…
