After The Rain, Flowers Shine: And Happy Holiday. Red, White, And Blue

by Jon Katz

After the rain stops, I always go out to the garden, to see who’s been damage, who wasn’t affected, who will survive. We’re doing well. The heavy damage was last week. I took my portrait lens out, I’m liking each. Each lens is different and has a different style and signature.

Here are some of those I took this morning. There is red, white and blue here. I’m renting a 35 mm Sigman lens to my others to see if it’s something that can enhance my picture taking. If so, one or two of the other lenses has to go.

My lens experimentation is ongoing, I have more things to try, more to learn.

I keep saying today and tomorrow will be half days in honor of the holiday and in honor of my country, Maybe tomorrow

I’m mixing some red, white blue flowers over the holiday, my not to my troubled country.

The deeper I go into the souls of flowers, the more they amaze me. Flowers are speaking to me all the time now, in one way or another.

I’m liking this shade of flowers, I don’t see it anywhere else.

I’m making sure that my photo journals all have something red, white and blue in honor of July Fourth.
