Last year we bought some raised garden beds for the Mansion’s Memory Care Unit. It was too late to plant them, and we had to find the right spot for the residents to access the bed safely and without slipping or bending, or having to lie down. This week, the beds got set up, filled with soil, and are ready to plant.
I got the beds when I saw how hard the residents were struggling to get down to where the plants were. I think we figured it all out.
At Paryese’s request, I set out yesterday to find some plants – most places have already sold out – and Country Power Products (my friend John) gave me some trays without charge. I dropped them off at the Mansion yesterday and I hope to join the crew when they put in the plantings this week.
There’s a mix of tomato plants and celery and some other kinds of squash. We just need for the rain to stop.
