The Stools: This Must Be Jean’s Place, An Upstate New York Diner

by Jon Katz

We went to have breakfast at Jean’s Place this morning, by far the best breakfast available in our area that we know of. I love looking at the stools; they are always full of big, strong men with suspenders eating hearty breakfasts. This is what makes America tick.

I guess that could be me sitting up there, was what I was thinking. It would make a great poster for Upstate New York diners.

  1. Man I got caught eating sausage gravey. Not on my diet! The wifey saw your picture and knew that’s what I was having. Jean’s makes the best.

  2. Yes, Jon, but they are eating the SAD (Standard American Diet), which isn’t particularly good for anybody.

    1. I don’t know what they are eating, Richard, and I never tell other people what they should be eating or doing. It’s a very personal decision.

    1. Nancy, you might consider that your comment won’t please because it’s obnoxious and offensive. Don’t do it again here. What these men eat is not your business or mine. Since you obviously knew better, you should have listened to yourself. You’re not funny. Sometimes I think social media is the end of manners.
