13 June

Art Photos, Tuesday, June 13, 2023. Celebrating Creativity And Gentle Warmth. And Tree Frogs

by Jon Katz

I decided four months ago to take on all of my health issues – my heart, my foot, my kidney stone — all at once. This week is the crowning point: one more surgery, two echo-cardiograms, some blood work,  and one casting for a new brace.

It’s going to be a hell of a week. I’m happy to kick it off with a celebration of creativity and a step forward in my spiritual life. Here, a place of peace, beauty, and safety. Good work for me to be wanting to do. I am a profoundly flawed human, but lumbering in the right direction. Creativity is our purpose and our faith.

Below is a photo art of our tree frog, a new friend and visitor to the farm. He’s been staring at us all day; imagine he’ll be gone tonight. I hope the chickens don’t see him lumbering toward the apple tree. He is a different color than he was this morning.  I’ll go check on him.

Come and visit my five art photos for June 13.

Our tree frog likes to lie on the metal fence, perhaps because it is cool and offers him a good view.

Every day at dusk, this red flower radiates color and life. The red gets more prosperous every day.

Blue is my favorite color, and Leica likes it also.

This flower was dead when I bought it, or so I thought. It’s bouncing b; it just needed space and water.

My poppies were battered all week with wind and rain. They keep bouncing right back.

  1. Hi, Jon,

Out of curiosity I looked up the symbolism of tree frogs–not really expecting to find anything. Instead I discovered that the Gray Tree Frog is known for its symbolism of change, new beginnings, and spiritual growth. I think he has appeared for you and Maria at a good time.

P.S. Thanks for the gorgeous flower photos!
