Purple Iris, Moving To Maria’s Garden. It Will Be Close By

by Jon Katz

Maria and I fought yesterday over who was buying this Iris plant for who. I think she won, but when we got home, I took a few photos and gave the plant to her for her garden.

That’s where it’s going today. A Perennial, it deserves a permanent home and quick planting. It is one of the most beautiful flowers I’ve seen, and I’ll visit it occasionally.

Irises don’t last long, and I want my flowers in the raised beds to get through most, if not all, of the summer.

This was a tricky plant to let go of, but it will only be a few feet away.

  1. Wow! Just wow! I love the iris. It looks like a prom dress with all the ruffles and pleats. I bet it looks amazing on a big screen. You have such an eye for these flower photos.
