Debby Jaffe and Edwin Schiele are, in many ways, the heart and soul of our small but vibrant farmer’s market, soon to expand significantly in a new home as part of a grand historic recreation project.
Debby runs the market, and Edwin sells the vegetables he grows on Long Days Farm. The days are long for both of them; they grow beautiful, fresh, and healthy food.
And their days are very long.
I rarely see them sitting together like that, Debby is usually running all over the place, and Edwin is busy selling the things they grow together on the farm.
We get most of our vegetables there.
Today is their last day on the old farm site, a senior center next to a church. We’ll see them in a couple of weeks in their new home. I like and respect these people; I won’t do a portrait of anyone I don’t like or respect.
I specialize in taking portraits of people who aren’t used to getting photographed or credited for the excellent and honest work that they do. It’s a calling for me now. If I ever did a photo show, it would be this one.
So lovely to see a photo of my friends.
Great photo!!!!!!!
