Portrait Fate. Dogs I Love And Respect

by Jon Katz

I only take portraits of living things I love and respect so that I will admit.

Fate has been known to drive me crazy, but she is loving and headstrong like her human. There is no other dog like her.

I do love and respect her, and whenever I can get her to look me in the eye, I go for it. I took this shot today outside, and I admit I whispered the word “sheep,” shame on me.

But it did work, and then we did go see the sheep.

  1. your credo of only photographing people, animals or flowers that you *love* rings true in all your photos, Jon. Lovely today seeing your local hard working farmers market friends……. and all others you posted today. Your philosophy shines through each and every photo

  2. Everyone has their addictions – even ones like “wool on the hoof”…. which nets Fate a Usain Bolt’s worth of exercise
and us a great portrait. Photo should be a motivational poster: “You game? Let’s go!”
