Morning Grazing, We Missed It All Winter. A Beautiful Way To Start The Day

by Jon Katz

One pasture is green enough for grazing; we’re holding back on the other two for rotational grazing and perhaps liming.

The sun was out this morning, and we went out into the pasture with the animals, which is always peaceful and uplifting.

Donkeys are grazers and meant to graze; sheep are ruminants. They are always at peace, especially with fresh green grass after the winter.

The apple tree always adds to our landscape, especially blossoming.

The sky was a little angry when I woke up, then the sun came out, and now it’s mad again. This means rain.

  1. Donkeys are not ruminants. How is it possible that you’ve had donkeys for twenty years and don’t know the most basic thing about them? Have you ever observed a donkey chewing its cud? Do you really believe that donkeys have rumens?

  2. Kate, take some slow breaths- one, two, three, four and exhale slowly. The piece should have read that donkeys are grazers and sheep are ruminants, and it does now.

I don’t understand how anyone could read me for 20 years and not know how I react to SMA’s (Social Media Asses). Advice to you – don’t be another social media jerk, rude and intolerant if you want to read my blog and comment here. Spotting a mistake doesn’t make you smart or admirable. You could choose to be helpful rather than rude.
I’d much rather make stupid mistakes than write messages like yours. Thanks for jogging me, I didn’t notice it. It’s not brain surgery. Best to you.
