Maria and I are both exhausted, and we decided to declare today, Saturday, a day of rest. We had to deal with a blister on my foot caused by a tight bandage, then I went out and got a couple of new flowers; I’ll take them outside in a week or two.
We sat out in the yard reading until a strong wind came up and drove us back inside. I took some pictures I like and am posting them here. All this before noon. I’m going to rest, meditate and read some more.
Outside, I looked for images of rest, contemplation, and beauty. I found some. We are beginning to regain our lives and grounding; the surgery knocked us for a loop. This morning is a great start.
Come and see.
This afternoon: sleep, reading, meditation, short walks around the farm.
I love photography clotheslines, an iconic American sight. All the better to see Maria hanging some wet clothes on the line; the wind will try them and make them smell wonderful.
I photograph this line of trees at least once a month to capture the season’s evolutions. This one has Spring written all over it.
The pansies are doing a great job of flower posting before the competition arrives over the next few weeks. The color in pansies really stands out.
Lulu is also deep in thought.
“Those fucking pansies,” I said to Maria, “they are really running with their time on top…”
Those pansies *are* very colorful!
thank you for sharing these beautiful photos of today……. plus the one of Robin. You and Maria both DO need at least one true day of rest and meditation after the events of the past few weeks. And I had to LOL Jon…… the last sentence of your post……. I don’t believe I recall ever having seen you use a curse word! Fitting though, yes! And I am not *complaining* just being observant and it surprised me! Always learning something new 😉
Happy healing weekend to you both
Susan M
The first flower photo is totally captivating and hard to look away from its beauty runs so deep. Thank you for capturing it and sharing it.
