Maria has an excellent idea for her Mansion art class tomorrow. I’m going with her and Zinnia; time to return to work after my foot surgery. I’ll take pictures, reassure the Mansion residents that I am alive and well, do some therapy work with Zinnia, and perhaps make one of these banner napkins while I’m there.
Maria is bringing vintage cloth napkins and markers so the residents can draw their banners. I might make one for my office.
They are beautiful, and I can see them hanging in memory care and the rooms of the Mansion residents in the main building. I know some of the residents in my Meditation Class were upset when they heard about my surgery. They also miss Zinnia. I believe she misses the work.
Early tomorrow morning, Maria and I will see Dr. Daly to change the bandages and ensure the wound is healing. The stitches come out in two weeks.
Then we’ll head to the Mansion. We’re going very early. I’m excited to be back working on behalf of the Army of Good rather than sitting around waiting to heal. And I am eager to try out my new rented portrait lens.
I can’t walk far or stand up long, but I can sit on a table, take some new portraits, and let the residents know I am well. I miss them, and I am told they miss me.
Maria has a natural gift for teaching art, she loves doing it, and her classes are always overflowing. I’m happy to be going with her. Next week, I’ll resume the Meditation Class (I’m sure they need some things), and the following week, I’ll be back at Bishop Gibbons to visit the young artists; they are on fire.
Jon, I am so happy to hear that your recovery is progressing so well! You are a lion 🙂 Nothing holds you back for long.
