My surgery was two days ago; I am very close to feeling normal. I got some sleep last night; the pain has eased; I took it easy as I was told to do. I went outside in the warm sun to try out my new camera and rental lenses – an 85 mm portrait lens and a macro lens for getting close, both Sigma lenses.
I was pretty happy. Monday, we see Dr. Daly to have the wound checked and the bandages changed. The foot feels fine.
Because of the surgical boots, I won’t be able to travel much, but I think I might make it to the Mansion next Tuesday; I don’t think I can get to Bishop Gibbons for another week or so, it’s too hard to walk much, and I’ve been told to take it easy until the stitches are removed. I’m not good at taking it easy, but I will be able to write and take pictures.
It’s spring training for me also, learning new things about light and exposure, and I’m taking the tripod out this weekend; my new camera is much heavier than the Q2. Tomorrow I will pick up some bigger pansies, which will give me more to practice on. I’m excited about my photography; I’m working hard to kick it up a notch without overdoing it.
I like the new lenses and am pleased with some of the first photos. I took a two-hour Leica course on the phone today. It was helpful. Come and see.
Red flowers, names unknown.
Hydrangeas in the afternoon light.
Wind chimes in the wind, back porch.
I am peeping pansie, small but loud.
Lovely pics, Jon. Glad you are rocking your recovery ๐
Fabulous work, Jon. I love the chimes and the peeping pansie!
These photos are incredible, Jon. What a great investment in your passion for photography!
Thanks Ed
Gorgeous photos! I am so happy you are able to get back to your love so quickly. Sending healing thoughts your way, although it looks like you are already rocking your recovery.
Beautiful! I think the red one is โOxalisโ. So happy you are feeling better ๐ hi to Maria!
Yes, oxalis it is. And, they bloom…or so I hear, but I’m waiting for mine to do so.
Me again – the plant with long thin stems and purple leaves that fold up at night is a purple shamrock.
Also called oxalis
