It was a cool but sunny day; I decided to prepare the raised garden beds, even though I won’t put seeds or bulbs in for at least another month. It took a couple of hours to collect the bricks, stack them in the barn, pull off the cardboard, place them in our next bonfire pile, and gather up all the leaves we put on to keep the soil soft.
The garden looks good; I have no real idea how long I’ll be stuck in the house after my surgery; I plan to blog throughout, and I thought it would be nice to see the gardens all ready. Now I’ll have to watch them for weeds. It’s very nice to see the beds ready. I have to put some fresh soil on top of the donkey manure.
I’ll wait a few weeks for that. Maria took the picture.
That soil looks very rich and ready for your gorgeous flowers! I can’t wait to see flower photos with your new camera! Let the new adventures begin! Blessings to you, Maria, and all of the animals of Bedlam Farm!
the soil is beautiful
You could plant your pansies now. They can take a surprising amount of cold, even snow. Mine from last year are growing and I have some new ones with the daffodil bulbs in a pot on my table outside, Tough plants that like cool and take cold weather.
Thanks, we’ll wait a week or two, the nights have been pretty rough, no reason to push it.
