The Shift Food Wagon In The Day Light. Sorry, Mr. Hopper. Good People Who Work Hard To Make Their Dreams Come True.

by Jon Katz

Tonight, I went to pick up our salads at the Shift Food Cart in the middle of town. This was the first time in weeks that I came in the daylight (Daylight Savings Time) and the first time I got a picture of Corey McMillan, who operates the wagon with Sarah, his wife.

Corey and I see one another a lot these days, and I appreciate the big and warming smile I got when I came over to get our salads for dinner. The Shift Wagon is a godsend. When I went to get our salads, I’m not the only one who feels that way. There was a good-sized line in front of the wagon. I have the feeling they are getting busier and busier.

That is good news for our town. We are excellent and fresh food starved, especially for dinner. I miss my Edward Hopper lonely in-line photos, but I have to say I like this one very much. Smiles like that are too infrequent these days, and Corey’s could melt ice.

Good on you, Sarah and Corey, you are on my list of good people I respect who work hard and make their dreams come true.
