The world is in chaos, but I am eager for the blog to stay healthy and become the Pocket Of Joy I want, a safe place amidst the turmoil. Everyone on the planet seems to want money from us, and I am humbled that people will send some to me to keep my blog healthy and relevant.
I never easily ask for this support. I will be sure to earn your trust.
Today, I meet with the last doctor in my round table examination of my body and my health this week. My doctors decided it was time to check me out all over, and they weren’t kidding – X-rays, blood work, urine samples, etc.
Today is the last meeting for a week or so (my toe will be amputated in three weeks). The recovery will be challenging and complex for several weeks, and then it should be all over unless they discover something else when they read through all these tests.
Yesterday, I was given (verbally and in writing) three pages of pre-and-post instructions on medications, standing up, icing, food elevation, and bandaging. The operation will take about a half hour and the recovery about three weeks. This morning, it’s the urologist’s turn to take a look at me. Being an older man is different; everything is on the table.
By tomorrow, I’ll know just how healthy I am or am not. Thanks for supporting my blog and the work it makes possible.
More later. I’m eager to have a week or two without doctor’s appointments. That week begins at noon today.
