I took this photo the other day, towards the end of the day when another storm was raging outside, and it was so cold I was shivering inside. It is, to me, a  portrait of peace, comfort, resting, a beautiful thing, the gift of winter, I think. We are tired at the end of the day, coming before the fire together to read and talk is a blessing.
