Bishop Gibbons was closed for Winter Break last week, so the post office and delivery companies held off bringing your donations of Vintage Clothing for Sue Silverstein’s Art And Photography class until today.
They have a lot of unpacking and sorting to do.
The first vintage clothes donation the class opened was this one, a big box full of trims and jewels to put on their masks (above). The course will have a blast with that.
The idea is to distribute the vintage clothes as they come in and then ask the students to photograph one another in their new, odd, and mixed costumes. The students are excited about it; they all wear masks today and try on the clothes.
They plan to take photos for a forensic/ mystery photography class, noir shirts, hats, pants, and a general photo contest. I’m teaching a class at the end of march.
The vintage clothes are pouring in; if you have more old clothes to donate, the address is Sue Silverstein, Bishop Gibbons High School, 2600 Albany Street, Schenectady, N.Y., 12304.
And thanks, I’ve never seen the kids as excited as they are about the upcoming photography contests and the kick of wearing old clothes they’ve never seen. Sue Silverstein knows how to make learning art fun.
A huge box of fur coats is on the way.
Vintage hats, and posing will be a blast. Thanks again, Army Of Good, you always come through. More photos will be coming.
Great masks! I can’t wait to see what the students come up with for photo ops!
Sue Silverstein is a genius!
For sure..
