The Beautiful Art Of Sue Silverstein, Bishop Gibbons Art Program. Getting Auctioned

by Jon Katz

Sue Silverstein was asked to donate two of her paintings to the upcoming Bishop Fibbons Auction fundraising gala. I posted one last week; she just sent me the other.

Sue, who runs the Bishop Gibbons art program I’ve been raving about and many of you have been supporting, is an established and well-known artist in her own right.

She is a true creative in every sense of the word, and she relishes every minute of her work with the young artists sprouting in her classes.  She is lighting them up.

I am lucky to know her as one of my best friends, if not the best. I’ve seen her excellent work with the refugee children; she is a lifesaver for many.

It is an honor and privilege to support the fantastic reaching she is doing at Bishop Gibbons.

On a gloomy and cold day of February, I wanted to share this beautiful painting with the people who know Sue and support the program.

She is very interested in receiving vintage clothing for her planned photographic workshop at the school. If you have any beautiful old clothes gathering dust in your attic or your grandmother’s or mother’s, consider ending it to Sue Silverstein, Art Program, Bishop Gibbons High School, 2600 Albany Street, Schenectady, New York,  12304.

She will make sure a lot of fantastic art comes from your donations.

  1. Happy New Year Jon.
I hope you are well and getting the rest that you need. I seem to require more every day.
Salem is so quiet now. It is, as if, everyone just moved away–to Florida, maybe?
